Northeast Under Siege: Two Feet of Snow, School Closures, and Mass Outages
Due to a massive winter storm, the Northeast parts of United States has struck with travel disruptions and school and public space closures. The storm is bringing more than 2 feet of snow in some regions and shattering records that dated back several decades. In Rhode Island, a record breaking snow fall have seen, which is about 33 inches, while Massachusetts is dealing with close to 287,000 power outages. Thousands of flights, or more than 90% of the total at major airports such as JFK and LaGuardia, have been cancelled, leaving passengers stranded. Although some travel restrictions in New York have been lifted and the storm is slowly abating, governors are still advising citizens to stay indoors.
